Are you surprised by A-Rod's positive steroid test?
I can honestly say I was surprised, but in the end I'm not really sure why. Everybody was on the juice so it's no shock to hear that he was as well, it's just he always seemed to be above the cloud of suspicion that everyone else was under. At least, it always felt that way to me. I think it'll be interesting to see if A-Rod breaks Bonds' homerun record, to see if everyone treats him the same way they do Bonds. Bonds definitely took steroids, but I do feel he's getting a bit too harsh of treatment when compared to how easily others have gotten off. A good deal of that probably has to do with the fact he's not well liked. A-Rod is not exactly a greatly beloved figure either, so it'll be interested to see whether the public verbally flogs him or not.

I still think he deserves to be a Hall of Famer. Do you think he will get in?

A-Rod should get into the HOF will with current numbers, so if he continues to play for another 5-7 years he should be 1st ballot in my opinion. Then again, I'm also in favor of putting Bonds, Clemens, and Pete Rose in as well and I know a lot of people feel strongly against that. I suppose I'm just more lenient in these situations.
On a side note, it appears something I said may have upset someone since my karma continues to go down, down, down. I would've thought A-Rod would've been an interesting topic to talk about, but it appears it may have rubbed someone the wrong way...a Yankee fan perhaps? ;D

I would love to say that any player who cheats by using roids should not get into the hall of fame, but if we do that there would be no one getting into hall of fame who played from the 90's til now.
I think ARod's in, but I'm like Tom in that I think that Bonds and Clemens should get in as well. Don't get me started on how unfair it is that Pete Rose isn't in the Hall either.
It will be interesting to see how the media and public will treat a well-liked player like say Albert P. if he was to ever get caught with roids.

The problem is that bonds lied, and if arod lies, he's a piece of crap too. If you're on the juice fine, don't be on the juice to try to break the most coveted record in all of sports. I think bonds was a hall of famer even before, but it was wrong to cheat just to be the hr king. Having said that, I think mcguire should have just told the truth rather than pleading the 5th. He's no better.

As long as he tells the truth I think he will be good for the hall, handle it like Giambi did. Unlike McGuire, Bonds, and Clemens A-Rod still has 9 years on his yankee contract to kind of rewrite his career even though roids will always be in the back of peoples minds.
