Good point but I feel longoria will turn into a premier player as early as this year

Just wanted to let everyone know that each owner can update their own roster in the team section. Once you do I will delete my original post in your roster sections.

move him to the end of the first round and when it's his turn again if again he doesn't pick replace him.

There is no time limit as of now. Maybe we ought to think about one.

It's not like the draft was a surprise everyone knew when it was and if you can't get on in a 24 hour time frame (which is twice what most leagues have as a time frame) then skip him

You do have to question the guy's sincereity. I sent him an Email around 7 last night. I'd say pick for him this round, try to contact him. In the mean time have another owner "warming uo in the bullpen".

Yeah, I don't get why he's not in here since he was on the day before the draft started. You never can tell about people though. Something may have happened to prevent him from being on here. Maybe he will be on soon.

jakepeaves. regarding your pick, I think that Longoria is an excellent fantasy player. I do, however, think that it would have been best for you to trade down in the first round. You would have received more value with a better pick in the 2nd round. You may have tried to trade down though, but if you were scared that someone would take him, you did what you had to do. It's in the past now. He's your #1 guy. You gotta stick with him. Hope he works out for ya.

I know that everyone who hasn't picked is pretty frustrated by now,no matter what the reason is for the hold up because I'm ready for my second pick already.

I would have considered Longoria if I was picking at that point. He will only be better and doesn't cost a lot.

yeah I'm not saying it was a bad pick. I like the pick. It probably could have waited a little longer, but like I said, you never know. He had to be a little worried that he might not get him, so he went on and picked him.

I agree it was a good pick, because he is going to be really good and he is cheap. I also agree that he could have picked him in the 2nd round for sure, I do not think that he was on to many owners radar for the 1st round. You need a diverse group to be able to be successful, what I mean is you nee some of those over powering studs that are going to cost a lot to go along with some young cheap guys to make sure you have a future as well. Thats my two cents. ;D

My two cents is that we should skip him.

This is off the current topic, but Miguel Cabrera is no longer 3b eligible right, since he only played 14 games. I just wanted to make sure so his owner will know.

My two cents on the matter are that we should not skip him. I have no sympathy for him, but I do have sympathy for the potential replacement owner. If he does not make his pick fairly soon or respond to the e-mail kyflyfisher sent him, we will more than likely have to replace him. I do not feel it is fair to that replacement owner to be penalized for something the previous owner did.
We have 4 months until opening day, there is no need to make hasty decisions. There is absolutely no problem with waiting a few more hours, or even until tomorrow to make the move. If I'm not mistaken, is this not the exact reason we voted to start the draft so early? So we would have plenty of time to make sure everything works out perfectly? If so, then let's use this time to make a good decision and not penalize a potential new owner before he's even here.

Everyone please calm down. We are not skipping anyone's pick. The draft lottery results are final. With that being said, if JT does not come on and make a pick by 6:30 est he will be replaced. I love that you guys are eager to get the draft moving but we have to look big picture here. It would not be fair to a new owner to have his picked pushed back or skipped because the old owner quit on us.

Didn't he list Cabrera as a 1B when he drafted him? Anyway, yes, he will no longer 3B eligible next year assuming we use ESPN's standard settings.

yeah he drafted as 1b but listed him as 3b on his roster. It is probably just out of habit, but I wanted to make sure.

that would be right up your alley. You can take another 3b and get Miggy in return. I love Cabrera, but he has way more value at 3b

If he's not careful, he's going to be a right-handed David Ortiz in a few years. Great offensive talent, but can't play defense because of a potbelly that would make Babe Ruth jealous.
